FM Transmitter Review Comments about C Crane FM Transmitter --
All-in-all we are pretty pleased with the C Crane FM Transmitter. It definitely does better than a lot of the others we've reviewed. The only other transmtiter that gained a higher rating was the Whole House FM Transmitter. The fact that it covers almost the entire public band is nice and it can be powered via batteries or AC power. Some things that we didn't care for was the RCA jack cable it didn't have an ability to control the volume so if the audio source doesn't regulate the RCA audio out ports it will almost certainly over modulate the C Crane FM Transmitter. The telescoping antenna is nice to have but if it gets bent then you have to replace it or forget about get much transmitting distance out of it. It also can make the FM Transmitter a bit "top heavy" and could tip over or get knocked over easily.

The C Crane FM Transmitter covers almost the entire public FM Band (88.3 to 107.7). This makes it nice if you have a lot of FM Stations in your area.
C Crane FM Transmitter Available Audio Source Options --

The C Crane FM Transmitter can be used with any audio source that uses a 3.5 mm headphone jack (1/8 inch) it also comes with a RCA connector cable to be able to use such things as TV, Home Stereo, DVD, etc.
One potential problem with the RCA cable is most RCA audio sources come out with full power and if it is not regulated it may over modulate the C Crane FM Transmitter. A simple solution to this is to integrate a volume control in the RCA cable or add a volume control adapter before it reaches the transmitter like how the Whole House FM Transmitter does their RCA cable.

The C Crane FM Transmitter can be powered via 2 "AA" batteries or plugged into the wall via an AC adapter. The AC adapter makes it nice so you can run it and not need to change batteries.
For an extra $29.95 you can purchase the 12v Mobile Adapter for Cars & Trucks and increase the power source options from 2 to 3 ways.
Distance of C Crane FM Transmitter --

On the C Crane FM Transmitter manual it states:
"The range of the FM Transmitter is between 30 and 75 feet, line of sight with no obstructions."
We have to agree this is about what we got. Although some customers say they received less or more. They also say there is a way to modify the C Crane FM Transmitter to produce more power and go further. but this would be a clear violation of FCC law to modify the power output.
